Children and Divorce

In divorce proceedings involving custody and parenting time, the Court must consider the needs and rights of the children.  Our family law attorneys will protect your rights and your children to achieve a fair outcome.

Common issues which involve children include:

  • Physical custody – where your child lives and spends the majority of his/her time.
  • Legal custody – who makes important decisions about your child’s activities (religion, health care, education, etc).
  • Parenting time – what amount of time with each parent is in the best interests of your child
  • Child support – how your child’s health care costs, child care costs, basic care, and routine daily expenses are handled.

Other issues may exist, such as paternity or adoption by a step parent.
