Originally from Mesa, Arizona, Taylor is a second-year law student at Mitchell Hamline School of Law. Taylor attended Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice/Criminology with a minor in Ethnic Studies. While at Northern Arizona University, Taylor gained valuable experience at a law firm working in the areas of criminal defense, landlord-tenant, and personal injury. Through her experience, she discovered her passion for law and upon graduation, transitioned into the area of family law. In October 2014, Taylor worked as a paralegal for a small family law and personal injury firm, where she assisted with difficult and complex matters, including divorce, child custody, child support modifications, property disputes, spousal maintenance modifications and protection orders. On the personal injury side of the practice, Taylor drafted initial case filings and handled all discovery, including trial preparations. Through her extensive experience over the last six years, Taylor assisted in trial preparations, including assisting the senior attorney with depositions, discovery preparation, and client meetings.
Taylor relocated from Flagstaff, Arizona to Saint Paul, Minnesota to attend law school at Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 2019. During her first semester of law school, Taylor volunteered with the Mitchell Hamline Family Law Self-Help Clinic. The clinic provides an opportunity to meet with clients and help each client work through difficult and high-stress situations. Through the clinic, Taylor assists the client’s needs with assisting in the document preparation for initial case proceedings, including divorce, child custody, or child support modification. Taylor continues to volunteer with the clinic and provide assistance throughout her two remaining years at Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
At Clausen & Hassan, Taylor assists and supports the attorneys by conducting research, preparing internal memoranda, assisting in trial preparations, including drafting correspondence, discovery, client meetings and client intakes. Taylor has a strong desire and passion for family law and enjoys helping clients through the legal process by assisting the attorneys in the presentation of their cases.
